Pressure washing uses water at high force to break that buildup loose and flush it away, which is the right call for driveways, walkways, patios and other hard surfaces that can take the pressure.
The job starts with a walk of the surface to look for cracks, loose mortar joints, or old sealant that is already failing, because those spots need a lighter touch or they will spall. Oil stains or rust get pretreated before the wash pass. The tech works in overlapping sections, holding a consistent distance and angle so the surface cleans evenly instead of leaving stripes, then edges along beds and foundation lines by hand.
Done wrong, high pressure held too close or at too steep an angle etches the surface of soft concrete, opens up hairline cracks into real ones, and drives dirt deeper into the pores instead of out. That damage does not show up as dirt anymore, it shows up as pitting and discoloration that no amount of washing fixes later.
How it runs
- Walk and test The surface is inspected for cracks, loose joints, and old sealant before any water goes down.
- Pretreat Oil, rust, or heavy algae spots get a cleaning agent applied ahead of the main wash.
- Wash pass Water is run at a pressure and angle matched to the material, in overlapping passes.
- Edge and detail Corners, joints, and edges along landscaping get cleaned by hand where the wand cannot reach evenly.
- Rinse and drain check The area is rinsed clear and checked to make sure runoff is heading away from the foundation, not toward it.
